Ecuador
Ecuador is one of the most diverse countries on Earth. The Ecuadorian Pacific coast is a region that offers untouched and tropical beaches, small fishing villages, national parks, archeological sites and lively harbor and touristic cities.
The Galapagos Islands is situated in the Pacific Ocean, 800 kilometers west of the Ecuadorian coast and lie directly on the Equator. The archipelago encompasses over 50 islands of volcanic origin that are spread out over an area of about 4,500 square kilometers. The volcanic Galapagos platform originated probably not more than 15 million years ago and the oldest island not more than 2.4 million years ago.
High season is July – September and the Christmas/New Year period. January to April is the warmest time and although it will be rainy, the sea is warmest then. The rest of the year the water is around 20C.
