Go and Write ! Tuscany

Combine adventure with writing on this unique retreat.

Join Dr. Gerard Collins, an award-winning Newfoundland author, mentor, and university educator, on this creative writing retreat in Tuscany, Italy.

Your writing getaway includes round-trip air from Saint John, New Brunswick (other travel arrangements available), 6 nights at the Belvedere di San Leonino villa in Chianti, Italy, writing workshops and one-on-one feedback sessions, all breakfasts and dinners, ground transportation, taxes, and airport fees.

During our 6-night stay at the villa, Gerard will offer two creative writing workshops and host individual meetings with all participants, where the focus is on you and your writing, and where Gerard will provide detailed feedback on your writing.

There will be group readings in the evenings, optional writing prompts, and many opportunities for grand conversation and inspiration: a thoughtful balance of time spent in the company of other writers and time alone dedicated to your own writing.

We also have the option of a full day trip to Florence, cradle of Renaissance Italy, where we’ll visit Medici Chapel and Dante House Museum, among other sites. While this day trip is highly recommended, it’s an add-on ($275/person), as travelers have asked that we try to keep our base price down. Please indicate your interest when you book.

Register to take advantage of this unique opportunity to work directly with Gerard, an award-winning author, writing mentor, and IMPAC Dublin nominee. All genres and writing levels welcome, and non-writers welcome as well.

Cost is $4,999 CAD per person based on two travellers sharing a room, or $5,599 CAD for a single traveler ~ includes airfare from Saint John, NB, all taxes, fees, travel coaches, all breakfasts and suppers. Land-only rates and air from other gateways is available. Prices in Canadian funds. U.S. writers, your dollar stretches a long way and we’d love to have you join us! You only need a downpayment of $1,000 when you book, and you pay the balance in July.
